International student support
Academic support:
Undergraduate or foundation year students are matched with a Personal Tutor for regular tailored support related to their course. They can join free one-to-one tutorials or workshops to learn academic writing and communication and maths and numeracy including statistics.
Learning support:
We have Student Learning Assistants - experienced students from the years above - coming to seminar sessions. They have personal experience learning the subject and understand any challenges. Students can also drop in for support from Graduate Academic Assistants, who also studied the subject at Middlesex, and who work alongside staff.
Library and IT support:
Students can get expert advice from the helpdesk about things like searching for resources or how to use specialist software. They can book training sessions and one-to-one tutorials to learn skills like referencing at an advanced level.
Canine teaching assistant:
Our dogs are here to support students. They work with departments to find ways to help reduce student's stress and anxiety.
Student welfare:
The team is here to help students deal with any financial, practical or legal difficulties during their studies with personal advice.
Counselling and mental health support:
We have specialist teams to support students' emotional wellness and mental health with access to free individual counselling sessions, workshops and support groups.
Disability support:
If students have a condition that affects how they can study, then our Disability and Dyslexia team is here to put support in place so they can do their best.
English support:
Students can continue to improve their English skills while they study with us with free workshops and one-to-one tutorials.
Child care support:
Our nursery provides early years education and full-day care for children aged six weeks to five years.
