VISA
Student Route visa
- £490 if you are applying from outside the UK
- £490 if you are applying from within the UK
In addition to the cost of your application, students will also need to demonstrate that they can cover living costs while they are in the UK.
This means they will need to show that they have £1,483 per month for 9 months (£13,347) in their bank account unless their course is shorter than 9 months.
Short-term study visa
- It is normally used for short English Language or summer school courses. A Short-term Study visa is not normally recommended for Pre-sessional courses as you cannot extend the visa within the UK. It costs £200 for a Short-term study visa.
Healthcare surcharge
Applicants coming to the UK for six months or longer are required to pay a mandatory immigration health surcharge in order to access the National Health Service (NHS).
This is currently charged at £776 per year, payment is made online as part of the visa application. The amount charged is based on the course start and end dates taking into consideration the short post-study period you will be granted at the end of the visa.
