WEBINAR SUPPORT BRIEF

As a conversion activity for September 2026 entry, the International Marketing team are planning a series of webinars.

Your role in this series of webinars is to offer insights into student life at MDX, provide support, and create an engaging and informative presentation. This will assist offer holders in understanding what to expect at Middlesex University.

Each webinar will last for 60 minutes and will include a presentation followed by a Q&A session. Please note the requirements below.

One week before the webinar: SLIDE PREPARATION

Create PowerPoint slides with the following information:

  • An introduction of yourself (name, country, programme of study, and the year of study)
  • What you love most about MDX (4 points)
  • The opportunities MDX has given you (job, networking, workshops, …)
  • Personal experiences relevant to the webinar topic

Make the slides visually appealing by incorporating pictures that illustrate your experiences.

Your presentation should last 5 minutes.

Send your presentation slides one week in advance to f.guillemot@mdx.ac.uk

On the day of the webinar: TECHNICAL CHECKS

  • Join the webinar 10 minutes before it begins using the link provided in advance.
  • Ensure your camera and microphone are in working order before the webinar commences.
  • Verify that your laptop is fully charged and ready for the presentation.

DURING THE WEBINAR

  • One of the ambassadors needs to introduce the webinar and one will end it using the text provided (agree on this before the webinar).
  • Take turns to answer the questions and do not interrupt your colleagues.
  • Keep your answers brief to get through as many questions as possible.
  • Select and answer the questions you feel more at ease with. If you do not know an answer do not try to make it up.
  • Share links in the chat box and use the provided document to answer questions.
  • Keep an eye on the time! Give an end of webinar warning 10 and 5 min before the end.

KEY REMINDER

  • Maintain your friendly and welcoming demeanour throughout the webinar.
  • Your role is to create an engaging presentation, assist in gathering questions, and offer valuable insights into student life at MDX.
  • Ensure the webinar runs smoothly and is a beneficial experience for offer holders.

Your contribution as an International Student Ambassador in these webinars is instrumental in helping prospective students embark on their Middlesex journey with confidence.
