SCHOLARSHIPS, FEES AND FINANCE

When you’re a student, managing your finances is incredibly important. At Middlesex, we help our students budget and can offer support and advice on making your money go further. You might also be eligible for a scholarship or bursary to help with living expenses and tuition costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I open a bank account?

You can book an appointment online or walk into a branch of your selected bank. All high street banks will ask you for a photo ID, proof of UK address and proof of your student status. Alternatively, you could open an account with one of the popular online banks such as MONZO or Revolut. The process is a lot easier and faster with these banks and they offer the same services but everything is done via their apps.

Can you recommend some websites for student discounts?

The most popular student discount websites are Studentbeans, Totum and Myunidays. They will give you access to a wide range of discounts on food and drinks, fashion, technology, health and many more.

Do students get discounts for transport around London?

Yes, students are eligible for a student oyster card which gives you a 30% discount on travelcards, you will have to apply on the TFL website.

When am I supposed to pay my deposit?

You will receive an email from us letting you know when you need to pay your deposit, as this will be different for each country.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes, but only in the following circumstances: You have been refused a student visa or the deposit was paid while you held a conditional offer and you failed to meet the conditions of the offer and were not admitted to the University for the relevant course and start date specified in the offer letter.
