Frequently Asked Questions
Where should I collect my Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from?
The location of your BRP collection will be visible on your decision letter from UKVI (Home Office) and is usually at the university or local post office. BRP cards should be collected within 10 days of arrival. Find out more here.
What are the best travel options from the airport?
Depending on which airport you arrive at you will need to check the best way for you to reach your accommodation. There are many options such as trains, buses and taxis, but the best option for you will vary depending on your budget and time of arrival. Use Citymapper to check your journey.
Does London get very cold in the winter?
London can get quite cold and rainy in the winter with temperatures between zero to ten degrees. However, it is sometimes easier and more cost-effective to buy warm clothes in the UK than in your country of origin if such clothes are not easy to find.
Can we celebrate cultural festivals such as Holi at Middlesex?
Of course! You are encouraged to celebrate and will receive support from our Student's Union. Such events are open to everyone in the university and it is a great way to share your culture with your fellow students.
Is there an airport pick-up service?
We don't offer an airport pick-up service, but we will have our current international students at Heathrow Airport on certain dates, to greet you and help direct you to public transport. Information on dates will be released closer to the time.
How do I register with a General Practitioner (GP)?
You should register with a GP, located close to your term-time address, as soon as possible. You can register online or by visiting the practice. Find out more information here.
